It's Christmas Eve and Richard is pondering Christmas gifts. However he is worried that his sister is about to die as she has taken to her bed and many people are attending to her. He is told to leave the house and goes out around the town accompanied by his Uncle, 'Mad Dan' a bit of an off the wall character. They head off towards the bonfire at 'the end' where miners and the community are gathered. This piece 'Off you go Boyo' reflects on that moment with his 'Mad' Uncle Dan as they head off out.
